I know getting naked (or half naked) with me and a camera sounds superrrr scary, but my hope for this blog is so that you feel as prepared as possible before you even show up. The beauty of boudoir is that this shoot can be as sexy or as casual as you’d like it to be. They are so so customizable.
Step 1: Book the session. You and I will pick out a studio or airbnb that fits your dream/vibe and book it for said date/time. I love to do boudoir sessions in the morning-ish. The lighting is good, you haven’t had a big bloating meal, and then you have the rest of the day to treat yourself.
Step 2: Plan your outfits and purchase. I can definitely help you here! (Ill also post a list of places you can find lingerie at the bottom) Typically, if the session is 1 hour gals are able to fit in 3 outfits (but of course you can do less.) Theres also the option to add and take away from one outfit. You can add a flannel/denim jacket over your two piece set. You can add a hat or your partners favorite jersey/sweatshirt. You can add heels or take them off. MOSTTTT importantly, you want to wear something you feel GOOD in. Not something that’s cute on the rack or online, but something you put on and you just feel good.
Step 3: Plan hair + makeup if you want it. (I can give recommendations here as well) I always recommend makeup if you’re comfortable with it. It perfects the look and ties everything together. Definitely recommend some color on your lips as well so your face and your lips aren’t the same color!
Step 3.1 Plan a spray tan (if you’re comfortable/want it) I PERSONALLLLY love a spray tan. I always feel better if Im tan. But that’s just me. If you’ve never gotten a spray tan before, maybe get one a few weeks before to make sure you like it!
Step 4. This is optional. Of course I will pose you and guide you through the entire thing. BUT, if you want to look up ideas and practice poses in your room that’s totally cool too. Let me know before or the day of if there’s anything you wanna try!
THE DAY OF TIPS:
GET LOTS OF SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE.
MOISTURIZE (THE CAMERA SEES EVERYTHING)
PLAY MUSIC THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD + HAPPY.
Optional – if you’re feeling really nervous, feel free to take a shot before or have a light drink (I don’t recommend chugging a beer that’ll just make you feel full and bloated)
THINGS YOU CAN BRING TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR SESSION:
Hat (think lack of color fedora)
Denim jacket/leather jacket
Partners favorite jersey/shirt/sweatshirt
Wedding ring/Veil (if you’re getting married)
WHERE TO FIND LINGERIE:
Pretty Little Thing
Less budget friendly:
For Love and Lemons (so dang cute)
Savage x Fenty
Skims (maybe for a cute casual look)
I hope this was helpful! Of course reach out with any other questions.
